When I am packing for an on-location shoot, setting up the studio, or organizing my equipment after a long day, I often find myself thinking about how much I have learned over the past 4 years and how much time I have spent in the studio.
Over that time, I did little to document what was happening and what I was learning. That is why I have started #TodayInTheStudio - a series of blogs that will recap of what has gone on in the previous few weeks. Each episode will be filled with BTS, lessons I have learned, and updates on the projects I've been working on most recently. These videos and blogs are as much for you as they are for me, as I'll be using them to document the fun and fast pace life as a commercial photographer.
Recently Precor Inc., a premium fitness equipment manufacturer, tapped me to shoot the training and advertising campaign for their newest piece of functional training equipment, as well as their latest iteration of the Spinning line. I was tasked with showing the functionality and multi-use capabilities of their new equipment. That meant a lot of people! This came with a few challenges. The unit filled the entire space we were given, only leaving a small amount of room to place lights and to maneuver to get the shot. Using the versatility of the canon 24-105mm f/4 helped to overcome that and I never had to change lenses. Also using the Vagabond battery helped cut down on extension cords in the tight space.

Retouching Before and After
We were going for an edgy focus lighting. Because we prepped the set we had to do a minimal amount of post processing in order to get the edgy focused look we were going for.
